I apologize for the few updates I've done lately. The verdict on my beloved Alienware computer was a death sentence: the mother board blew, so it'd be cheaper to save and buy a new computer altogether than replace it. As such, I am very limited on access to a computer with internet access.
Hopefully I can get some more pieces done, photographed, and posted before long; I got two new beading books from my Mom for Christmas to try.
Some projects already on my list besides the new techniques are a couple of pink illusion necklaces and a dark teal one to play with styles and colors. Hopefully I can get those done in the next week or so if my approaching cold doesn't drain my creativity; last time I got a head cold my creativity shot through the roof.
I will be using materials I already have as my funds are all going toward my car payments.
Again, if you see something you're interested in, e-mail me at okkirby@hotmail.com, and put the name of the piece(s) in the subject heading.
And, for an "awww" moment, here's my "assistant" Cassie, doing what she seems to do best.
I have heard from several people my prices, which are in American dollars, are showing up on their computers as being in another currency. The other numbers I put in (such as lengths in inches) are also being messed up. We have, after some experimentation, figured out what the deal is: I use Internet Explorer or Safari to do my blog posts. The ones seeing the different currency are using FireFox. If you have FireFox, sorry about this; it's not something I can change--either try Internet Explorer or Safari if you have them.
I've got a general estimate on shipping costs now: $3. This includes insurance. The cost will cover a 75 cent bubbled envelope, postage, and insurance.
Contact information: again, it's updated and public on my About Me profile page. But here it is as well: okkirby@hotmail.com. Put the name of the piece you're interested in on the subject heading line.
If you see something you like but want a different color or length, feel free to contact me. Some things I can change like that. Some will cost a little more for an increase in length or other adjustments that take a little more time (going from a 14-inch necklace to a 16-inch, for example, depending on materials, raises the price about $2).
Any questions, feel free to drop me an e-mail!
I noticed today that my contact information wasn't public for this blog. Apologies for that...it's fixed now. I'm also posting it here: my e-mail address is okkirby@hotmail.com. If you see a piece you're interested in, would like something similar, in a different color with the same pattern, or custom work (I'm a little limited in time and technique, but I'll do my best; currently I would say "no" to a lot of wirework because I'm not satisfied with my quality in it yet) that's the way to get a hold of me. If you want to buy a piece, put the name of the piece you want in the subject heading of your e-mail and we'll go from there.
I also discovered today BlogSpot doesn't let me post comments to my own site in response to people! I knew that was an issue on my other blog (Elemental Storyteller, my writing one), and that I couldn't seem to post comments on other peoples' blogs, but now it's official. Until I sort that mess out, I apologize that I can't reply to the comments posted.
Thanks and apologies again!
I should also note that the prices DO NOT include shipping. Shipping will be an extra charge that varies per piece (I think the most is $4), which includes insurance, a bubble-envelope, and the piece is also wrapped in decorative tissue paper.
